Alan Shearer slams Arsenal player for what he did during dramatic 1-0 lost over Aston villa

Arsenal became the latest team to go o Villa Park and struggle as Unai Emery haunted his former team.

Villa were once again in good form in front of their home fans and an early goal from John McGinn sent them well on their way to yet another big performance.
For Arsenal, there was a lot of Mikel Arteta to dissect from the stands as some of his better players blew big moments in the game to turn things around.

One of this big moments came midway through the second 45 when Gabriel Jesus was played in behind the defence, only to take a shocking first touch and completely pass up the chance.
And watching on for Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher picked up on just how poor it was from Jesus and insisted he should have done much better.

“This would have been a lot more dangerous if Gabriel Jesus could have sorted his first touch out he was in. It’s really poor,” Carragher said.

Jesus has to do better for Arsenal

There were a few occasions in the game tonight when the Brazilian didn’t quite look the business as he has done in the past.
£45m signing Jesus didn’t hold the ball up like he normally does and fell to the floor quite a bit when under heavy pressure from Villa defenders.

Likewise, in front of goal, he never looked like having that killer instinct and this moment summed up how his 90 minutes went really.

A lot has been said in the past about Jesus not being the man Arsenal need in front of goal and as the weeks go by, it looks more and more obvious the Gunners need something else.

Gabriel Jesus remains a top player and has had a big impact at Arsenal. But he simply does not score enough goals and this tonight was just one example of him not being ruthless when needed.
