Arsenal can seal £52m Declan Rice partner transfer before Bayern Munich on one condition

Arsenal continue to be linked with a move in the January transfer window for a midfielder, with Martin Zubimendi the latest name to appear The January transfer window is only a week or two away now and for Arsenal, it could be the perfect chance to reinforce their ranks for the second half of the season. There are several areas that could be targeted, with a striker option being touted alongside another defender.

However, it’s the midfield department that may be of most interest, especially given the injury issues of Thomas Partey as well as his potential absence for the African Cup of Nations, while a partner for Declan Rice may be desired. Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz has been mentioned as a target, but seems to be slightly unlikely given their exploits this season.
That brings along the next name, being Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi, a midfielder that has continued to impress with the ongoing rise of the Spanish side. His performances have earned him links to the likes of Arsenal, Barcelona and Bayern Munich over the past few transfer windows.
The latest on Zubimendi

Arsenal have been tracking a potential move for Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi ahead of the January transfer window, understands. The Spaniard is claimed to have a release clause worth roughly £52million, which can be triggered in the window.
Speaking to Spanish outlet Sport, Zubimendi pledged his allegiance to Sociedad earlier this year, saying: “Rumours, rumours, because I told my manager that I didn’t want to hear anything, especially in winter. Leaving Real Sociedad aside with the season we are having would be illogical. Here I am very happy.”

In another interview, he continued that claim, adding: “I have never planned to leave Real Sociedad, I always say that. I love life here, at home, I’m so happy here. The values of this club are the same as mine so I feel very good, I always said that I’m happy.”
