Arsenal could sign £5m player if they don’t get Pedro Neto from Wolves

Arsenal may be looking to add some attacking reinforcements this summer.

For far too long, the Gunners have operated without any real backup to Bukayo Saka down the right wing.

There have been links to the likes of Pedro Neto and Michael Olise as of late, but according to Steve Kay, speaking on KS1TV, there’s another player who could join if Arsenal’s proposed move for Neto doesn’t work out.

Indeed, according to Kay, Xavi Simons is a player that Arsenal are fairly keen on and he reckons that if the move for Neto doesn’t work out, the £5m Dutchman could be headed to the Emirates.

Simons could join Arsenal if Neto doesn’t
The journalist shared what he knows about the young attacker.

“He’s someone Arsenal are interested in, no doubt about that. He can play on the left or the right wing, he’s one of the players on the list alongside Olise and Neto. I still think that if they can get Neto he would be Arsenal’s first choice. This will not happen in January, personally I think if we don’t get Neto or something because City are sniffing around Neto, this guy could come in,” Kay said.

Regardless of whether Arsenal target Neto, Simons or Olise, it sounds as though the Gunners could make a very exciting signing this summer.

All three of those players are truly fantastic young talents, and they would be perfect alternatives to either Saka or Gabriel Martinelli should either of those players need a rest or pick up an injury.

The Gunners need to breathe a new life into this attack soon as fatigue seems to be affecting their current crop more and more, and this would be a great way to address this current issue.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on heading into the summer.
