Arsenal have now ‘been offered’ £15m goal machine in potential January transfer

Arsenal have been told to sign a striker in the January transfer window to boost their title chances, and they have now been offered a bargain option.

Stuttgart striker Serhou Guirassy has been in sensational form, scoring 16 times in 11 Bundesliga games this season, a total only bettered by Harry Kane, and he could be on the move in the winter window.

Several clubs are interested in the striker, and Arsenal have been linked in recent weeks. With the Gunners also linked to Brentford’s Ivan Toney, Guirassy could be a much cheaper alternative as someone who could make an immediate impact in the squad.

Arsenal are top of the Premier League, and beat Wolves 2-1 yesterday, but they should have scored more, and a clinical striker could make a big difference in the title race.

Arsenal offered Serhou Guirassy

90min journalist Graeme Bailey has now revealed that Arsenal are among the clubs who have been contacted by Guirassy’s representatives over a potential January move.

The representatives of Serhou Guirassy are confident that the striker will join a Premier League side during the January transfer window. Arsenal, Man United and Newcastle amongst the clubs who have been offered the Stuttgart star,” he posted on X.

Guirassy has a release clause of around £15m, and given the potential bargain fee, he would represent a low-risk, and potentially high-reward January transfer.

The 27-year-old has exploded this season, scoring in all but one of his nine Bundesliga starts this season, and added to his tally in yesterday’s victory over Werder Bremen.

Stuttgart are third in the Bundesliga thanks to Guirassy’s outstanding efforts in front of goal, but his release clause means they are powerless to stop him moving if it is activated.

Guirassy plays in a front two alongside Brighton loanee Deniz Undav, and offers both speed and devastating finishing ability.

Given his form, he would be able to come in and hit the ground running immediately, and at £15m he would not prevent a future move for a different target, with Victor Osimhen of Napoli also linked.

Arsenal have several options upfront in Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, Leandro Trossard and Kai Havertz, but a gamble on a potentially clinical striker in Guirassy could give Mikel Arteta’s side a boost in both the Premier League and Champions League.

If Arsenal had someone like Guirassy yesterday, the 2-1 win over Wolves could have been a 4-1 win, and these fine margins are important when competing with Manchester City at the top of the League.
