Arsenal lineups vs Porto as Gabriel Jesus returns and Oleksandr Zinchenko decision made

Arsenal fans have been told to ‘bring the noise’ for Tuesday night’s Champions League round of 16 second leg clash with Porto. Flags will be waving and light shows will be ready ahead of kick-off along with some pre-match pyrotechnics.

There’s little doubting that the Gunners think this is going to be a huge game. Even with Bayern Munich, PSG and Manchester City through this is a competition they’ll still feel they have a chance of winning.
Even with the Premier League title race rumbling on Arteta will not want to lose momentum so it’s crucial that he gets his team selection spot on. Luckily for him’s Arsenal writers are on hand to help out. Below they decide who they think should play.

I think even if Aaron Ramsdale hadn’t made a mistake against Brentford I’d still be starting David Raya on Tuesday night. This is a game where they need total concentration.

In front of him I’m playing Oleksandr Zinchenko ahead of Jakub Kiwior. With Porto defending deep you’ll need the extra creative present to break them down.

In midfield I think you need the experience of Jorginho on what could be a very emotional night. Ahead of him Declan Rice has shown fine form in the final third which could be crucial, while there’s not a more creative player in England than Martin Odegaard.

In the forward line meanwhile I think Gabriel Jesus’ Champions League knowhow could be vital. I don’t think you can move Kai Havertz from the centre forward position so I’m keeping him there and obviously picking Bukayo Saka on the right wing.
