It seems like we say this every week, but this is genuinely a crucial game for Arsenal. With Manchester City and Liverpool playing this weekend, the Gunners have the chance to go top. Not that you’d know it from what Mikel Arteta has been saying.

“I can’t control it,” he said in his pre-match press conference. I will enjoy a magnificent game of football with two of the best teams in Europe in the last decade and let’s see what that brings. The focus is on us and Brentford. Privately and publicly I have no preference because it’s nothing to do with me.”

Still though the Spaniard will know that keeping up this winning streak Arsenal are on is key. As a result it’s crucial that he gets his team selection just right. Here football.london takes a look at the line up he could pick.

With David Raya ineligible this has the potential to be Aaron Ramsdale’s last game in an Arsenal shirt. This could also be his last chance to play before the Euros so he’ll want to impress Gareth Southgate who will surely be watching on.

After grabbing the best goal of the night against Sheffield United on Monday Ben White’s focus will be back on defending against Brentford.

William Saliba had a tough time up against Ivan Toney at Emirates Stadium last year. That doesn’t happen often so he’ll want to put things right this time out.

Jakub Kiwior
Tomiyasu and Zinchenko are doubts once again, but once again Jakub Kiwior probably deserves to be in the team on merit. He’ll want to keep up up that form on Saturday.
