Arsenal press conference – Mikel Arteta on Crystal Palace, Smith Rowe and Timber return

Hello and welcome to football.london’s live blog for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s press conference ahead of the Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

Arsenal finally return to action after their winter break in Dubai as Premier League action gets back underway and Crystal Palace make their way from south to north London. Roy Hodgson’s side have had little time to recover from their FA Cup defeat at Everton in midweek.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been away in the Middle East enjoying some time away from the bitter coldness of London and will be fully prepared for the clash. Mikel Arteta has been able to work with the group on some key issues which has plagued a poor patch of form.

Gabriel Jesus returned to training but the Arsenal manager is sure to be asked about the status of players like Thomas Partey, Jurrien Timber, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fabio Vieira and Jorginho, the latter of whom was missing from any of the latest training images and clips.

Kaya Kaynak and Tom Canton will be bringing all the updates as Mikel Arteta addresses the media from London Colney. Updates to follow.

Arteta on Zinchenko and Timber
Mikel Arteta refused to provide clarity on the latest Arsenal injury news besides some clues about Jurrien Timber’s potential return. Oleksandr Zinchenko and Jorginho were not spotted in the final Dubai training session but the Spaniard remained coy on their availability.

The Arsenal manager faced the press ahead of the game with Crystal Palace at the weekend. His side had just come back from a winter break which was spent in Dubai helping to refocus his side in the warm weather following a poor patch of form.

When asked for the latest team news he said: “We still have a few on that list that we have unfortunately not been able to get back.” That list certainly will include the likes of Jurrien Timber, Thomas Partey and Fabio Vieira.
