Arsenal star Bukayo Saka sends three-word message after Sheffield United win amid injury worryafter being withdrawn during the interval against Sheffield United

Bukayo Saka says Arsenal are “on a mission” after their comprehensive 6-0 win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. The Gunners created clear daylight in the goal difference charts from their Premier League title rivals Liverpool and Manchester City.

The triumph for Mikel Arteta’s side moved them to within two points of the league leaders and one point behind second. Arsenal became the first team to score five or more goals in three consecutive away games after hitting Burnley for five and six at West Ham United.

Arsenal put the Blades to the sword with five unanswered first-half goals from Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and a Jayden Bogle own-goal. Ben White rounded off the scoring after 58 minutes to move six goals clear of Liverpool on 45-plus goal difference

Taking to Instagram in light of the rout on South Yorkshire, he said: “On a mission.” Goalscorer Rice, also offered his gratitude to his fellow England international for providing an assist for his fifth Premier League goal of the season

The North London club can move top of the table with a win over Brentford on Saturday (5:30pm) ahead of Liverpool’s top-of-the-table showdown with Manchester City. Saka could be a possible injury concern after being sacrificed at half-time with a knock, subsequently being replaced by Fabio Silva

Injury concerns were also sparked after Gabriel Martinelli limped off shortly after the hour mark. Arteta said: “No he was feeling a bit sick. As well we have Fabio who we needed to give minutes.

“It was a great opportunity. Then we had a little issue with Gabi Martinelli. He had a slight cut in his foot. We need to wait and see how it is.”q
