Arsenal

Bid Rejected ✅: Michail Antonio says Arsenal should pay £100m to sign 27-year-old now

Ivan Toney has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal as of late.

All of the talk heading into January has been around Toney signing for the Gunners, and these rumours aren’t going away.
Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Michail Antonio has been discussing the idea of Toney joining Arsenal, and the West Ham star believes that the Brentford ace is well worth the reported £100m valuation that Brentford have stuck on the 27-year-old.
Toney is worth £100m to Arsenal

Antonio stated that Toney is worth a huge amount to a team like Arsenal.
I believe that to Arsenal he is worth £100m. I believe that if he was at Arsenal when they played us they would’ve won that game. He’s just that guy who’s always there, he’s always in the right place and that’s what they are missing from their title race, they need a striker who can get them 20 goals, and I believe if he goes to Arsenal he will get 20 goals. The difference I would say between him, Jesus and Nketiah, I don’t believe he can drop deep as much as Jesus or Nketiah, but, in my eyes, to Arsenal, he’s worth £100m,” Antonio said.

Huge fee

As much as we love Toney as a player, £100m is a lot of money for a player who only has one 20-goal season in a top-flight league.

Of course, if he can continue that form, he will absolutely be worth that sort of fee, but Toney has never played for a team like Arsenal before.

The pressure of playing for one of the big six in a title race is unlike anything else, and it’s unclear whether or not Toney will actually be able to make that step up.

Whether or not Arsenal do make this move remains to be seen, but if they do pay £100m for Toney it will be a serious gamble.
