Bukayo Saka and one more Arsenal player suffer serious injuries as the crisis continues

Two Arsenal players have been playing through serious injuries over the last few weeks.

Arsenal have endured a run of poor results over the last month. Mikel Arteta’s side have won just one of their last five Premier League matches which has left them in fourth place, five points behind leaders Liverpool.

While Arsenal’s attack is struggling to score goals, their defence, which they’ve relied on over the course of the season, is now also failing to keep clean sheets. Mikel Arteta needs to get his side back on track, and quick, if they want to be in the title run in come May. However the Arsenal manager also needs to guide his side through the mini injury crisis they’re currently suffering with.

Thomas Partey, Fabio Vieira, Jurrien Timber and Oleksandr Zinchenko are all currently sidelined with injuries, while Takehiro Tomiyasu only just returned in the game against Fulham on the weekend. However the problem doesn’t get any better for Arsenal with the news that Bukayo Saka has been playing through an injury problem over the last few weeks.

Saka has been arguably Arsenal’s most important player this season, scoring six goals and recording seven assists in the Premier League so far this campaign. It’s no surprise Mikel Arteta keeps playing the winger with Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli both struggling for form, Saka has been consistently providing up to this point of the season.

The 22-year-old’s importance to Arsenal is undeniable, however Mikel Arteta may have no choice but to manage his minutes as we head into the new year. According to The Mirror, Saka has been playing with an achilles injury for the last few weeks which he is struggling to shake off

The last thing Arsenal need is for the winger to suffer a long-term injury ahead of a big second half of the season to come for the Gunners.

Saka isn’t the only player currently dealing with an injury problem either. Ben White is also said to be nursing a minor knock over the last few weeks. The defender is another player who has struggled for form in recent games which makes sense considering he probably would have been given a rest if Mikel Arteta had adequate depth to replace him with.

The January transfer window is now open and Mikel Arteta will be desperate to bring a couple of players in to help guide his side through the injury crisis they’re currently going through.
