Bukayo Saka makes brilliant Arsenal gesture ahead of Liverpool FA Cup clash

Latest Arsenal news with Bukayo Saka making a gesture to his team-mates before taking on Liverpool in FA Cup action this weekend

Bukayo Saka has gifted presents to the Arsenal squad ahead of Sunday’s FA Cup clash against Liverpool at Emirates Stadium. The Gunners head into the fixture off the back of two consecutive Premier League defeats to West Ham and Fulham with just one victory in their last five games in all competitions.

After sitting top of the league at Christmas, Arsenal are now in fourth and five points behind leaders Liverpool. In December, Mikel Arteta and Jurgen Klopp faced off with a tense clash at Anfield ending in a draw after Gabriel Magalhaes saw his early goal cancelled out by Mohamed Salah.

In Liverpool’s most recent victory against Newcastle, Salah was the star of the show however Klopp will not be able to call on him this week. Both he and Wataru Endo have temporarily departed Merseyside to represent Egypt and Japan at the Africa Cup of Nations and Asian Cup, respectively

Despite Arsenal’s recent form, Arteta and his players will certainly fancy their chances given they are at home and the visitors are without their best player. “Both teams are missing very important players,” Arteta said when asked about Salah’s absence. “We knew that. We have to adapt to that and win matches. We played two weeks ago and it was an incredible match. I hope it will be a very good match again.”

Ahead of the clash, perhaps in an attempt to boost morale, Saka has revealed on social media what he has gifted to the Arsenal squad as late Christmas presents. On his Instagram story, Saka posted a photo of some Beats headphones with the caption: “Thank you for the customs @beatsbydre. Late presents for the boys [present emoji].”

Saka has once again regularly featured for Arsenal this season, however his goal output has not quite matched his tally from last season. One reason for that could be down to the amount he is fouled in games, however former Premier League star Gabby Agbonlahor has shown no sympathy for the England international.

It’s all you hear off Arteta and Arsenal – get on with it, it’s football,” Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT, talking to Alan Brazil. “Back in your day, you used to get fouled every time you got the ball. Look at the clips of Maradona, he used to get two-footed in the chest! Two-footed in the chest, no yellow card, play on. Messi – kicked, kicked, kicked – he just gets up, takes a quick free-kick and gets on with it. Get on with your game.”
