Confirmed ✅ news:Arsenal get Joshua Zirkzee transfer clarity as ‘talks confirmed’ amid confusing release clause

Joshua Zirkzee could soon arrive in the Premier League from Bologna with both Arsenal and Manchester United interested in acquiring his services. The former Bayern Munich star has scored eight goals from 22 appearances this season which has alerted a number of clubs, especially with reports of a €40million (£34.2m) summer clause.

The Gunners, to many onlookers, are in need of a new striker with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah struggling to consistently provide the goals. Prior to the 5-0 demolition of Crystal Palace, Arsenal had managed just six goals in their previous eight games until a surprise scorer unlocked a major attacking strength that can be used by Arsenal.

Two of the goals this past weekend came courtesy of Gabriel Magalhaes being found precisely from set-pieces and going forward it is something the Gunners will undoubtedly aim to use again. However, it is not a long-term solution and its success rate, despite the joy found against Crystal Palace, is unlikely to be that high again.

With that in mind, Zirkzee has been linked as a much cheaper striker transfer alternative to the likes of Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen. Both the Brentford and Napoli star are expected to be on the move this summer with Arsenal, alongside Chelsea, showing a keen interest in both

January deal is very unlikely for Zirkzee but a transfer at the end of the season is a real possibility with Ben Jacobs providing an update on his situation. “In terms of possible signings, there is plenty of interest in Bologna’s Joshua Zirkzee,” he wrote on CaughtOffside. “The 22-year-old has seven goals in 15 Serie A games this season.

“Arsenal and Man United are both tracking the Dutch forward with a view to the summer. Tottenham could also enter the race. “There remains some confusion over Zirkzee’s €40m summer release clause, but Bologna director Marco Di Vaio insists it is ‘only valid for Bayern.’

return to Bayern is unlikely but not impossible. Man United are the only Premier League club to date to begin any formative talks.” As mentioned above, the Netherlands international being available for around £34million is not possible for any club other than Bayern which immediately gives them a huge advantage.

Despite that, a minor increase on his asking price may still tempt the likes of Arsenal, Man United or Tottenham into pursuing the transfer, however the latest stance from Bologna will likely scare off suitors. In Wednesday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport, via Football Italia, the Italian club believe Zirkzee is worth as much as Rasmus Hojlund.
