Gary Lineker says 22-year-old Arsenal man is one of his favourite players right now

Gary Lineker has now been discussing an Arsenal player he absolutely loves following this weekend’s win over Newcastle United.

Mikel Arteta’s side won in brilliant fashion on Saturday night, dispelling any fear of a European hangover.
And if Arsenal put some demons to bed from their loss the previous Wednesday, they perhaps also overcame some recent defeats to Newcastle as well.

Arteta’s side had won just one of the last four meetings between the sides before this weekend’s victory.
And although Newcastle aren’t in their best shape right now, the 4-1 win seemed to indicate two projects progressing at different rates.

All that being said, Gary Lineker was particularly impressed with one Arsenal player against Newcastle.

And when speaking on ‘The Rest Is Football’ podcast, Lineker admitted that Bukayo Saka was now one of his favourite players.
Lineker hailed Saka’s decision-making and also mentioned an underappreciated side of his game, his strength.

The pundit said: “He is just a gorgeous footballer. His decision making. He just looks like a young, smiley nice boy but he is strong as well and he’s tough and competitive.

“He is one of my absolute favourite players.”

Gary Lineker blown away by Bukayo Saka’s latest Arsenal display against Newcastle

Of course, it’s very hard to argue with the merits of Lineker’s words here.

If Arsenal were desperate for a goalscorer in recent months, they now have a winger who has scored 13 goals in 25 Premier League games.
And to demonstrate Saka’s improvement, the forward managed 14 goals in 38 league games last season, and 11 goals the season before.

Rio Ferdinand has already been somewhat eating his words since he declared that Saka wasn’t ‘world class’ yet.

And perhaps following his Saka’s display for Arsenal against Newcastle, Lineker may even take umbrage with those words himself.

Either way, it’s clear that anyone watching an Arsenal game should just be enjoying the levels the England international is now reaching, especially with the Euros on the horizon.

All that being said, one player Arsenal sold last summer has also been among the goals, scoring a sensational effort yesterday.
