He’s very negative’… Pundit says Arsenal’s ‘special’ player looks like he has no confidence now

Arsenal are in a bit of a crisis at the moment.

The Gunners have won just one of their last seven games in all competitions, and something has to change.

Arsenal’s current crop of starters aren’t doing the business, so perhaps they need to look at some of their fringe players to come in and make the difference.

One player who turned up in the big moments on more than one occasion last season was Reiss Nelson, but speaking on Premier League Productions, Fara Williams has been discussing the winger and his recent performances.

Williams says that Nelson has been very negative in his play whenever he’s started recently, claiming that he doesn’t look as though he has any confidence whenever he’s given a shot in the XI.

Nelson lacking confidence
Williams shared her verdict on the ‘special’ player.

“Substitutes are there to impact games, but I feel he’s very reactive and he has some great names on that bench who could make a difference. Nelson, I feel like he lacks confidence whenever he gets an opportunity to start, he’s very negative in his play, he has bags of talent, but he doesn’t get a run of games does he and it’s the same with Nketiah,” Williams said
The 24-year-old produced some real moments of magic last term, and after earning a new contract in the summer, he probably thought this would be his chance to shine at Arsenal.

However, things haven’t gone to plan for Nelson, he’s barely got a game this season and when he has played, he’s not exactly lit the Emirates up.

Let’s hope that Nelson can rediscover his confidence soon, because he’s a very talented player.
