I would take him’… David Seaman says he’d absolutely have ‘amazing’ striker at Arsenal now

Arsenal need a new striker.

The Gunners are really struggling when it comes to putting the ball into the back of the net at the moment, and if you’re not scoring goals, you’re not winning games.

If history tells us anything, it’s that most of the time, teams that win the Premier League have a reliable goalscorer leading their line.

Unfortunately, Arsenal don’t quite have that luxury at the moment, but with the January transfer window open, that could soon change.

Ivan Toney is a player that has been linked with a move to the Emirates for a little while now, and speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has now said that he would take Toney at Arsenal.

Seaman would take Toney
The Gunners legend shared his verdict on this potential transfer.

“What sort of money are they going to be looking for? I’ve heard like £100m banded around. The only thing you worry about is when he comes back is match fitness, that’s the only worry, he’s a goalscorer, a brilliant penalty taker, he has everything there ready to kick on,” Seaman said.

“I would take him, I’ve said that, but get another striker if you can’t get him.”

What Arsenal need
Toney could be just what Arsenal need.

The Brentford striker has proven over the past 18 months that he is a top-calibre striker at Premier League level, and he certainly knows where the back of the net is.

Arsenal have no problems when it comes to creating chances, it’s just finishing that lets them down sometimes, and Toney would be able to solve some of those problems.

Of course, whether or not Arsenal are able to get this deal done remains to be seen, and as Seaman says, that reported £100m pricetag is a lot of money.

Toney could be just the player Arsenal need this month to help them to a Premier League title.
