Ian Wright slams ‘mentally weak’ Arsenal after seeing them at Fulham

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has hammered his former team after seeing them lose another game today against Fulham.

The Gunners looked way off the pace again as the Cottagers swept them aside at home and gave Mikel Arteta plenty to think about going into January.
Just like last season, it seems like Arsenal are losing their way at a crucial point in the season and January could be massive for them.

Paul Merson has called on them to go and sign Ivan Toney as he remained positive.
However, former striker Wright was less complimentary, as he labelled the Arsenal players as ‘mentally weak’ right now.

“Arsenal looked very tired, looked like they were out of ideas and mentally weak. Coming off a poor result against West Ham, there was no response to that. There’s something lacking for Arsenal at the moment; they look very lethargic, the front men aren’t sharp, and Arsenal always look like there’s a chance of beating them. They should be doing a lot better than this,” Wright said.

Arsenal lose their way at Fulham and Ian Wright is bang on

There is definitely something not quite right at Arsenal right now and they’re struggling to get anywhere near their best, especially in the attacking third.
Mikel Arteta had his side free-flowing last season but this year they’ve been nowhere near the same.

The Spanish coach must now find a solution for his Arsenal team and he’ll be hoping he gets a player or two in January to help him.

When former players like Ian Wright are taking a pot shot at the team, you know something is not quite right and needs to be fixed.

Luckily for the Gunners, they have a bit of a break before the next PL game.

But with so many teams around the title picture now, things are hotting up and they’ll need to handle the heat better than they have lately.
