In 2018, then-Arsenal manager Unai Emery handed a fresh-faced teenager, Bukayo Saka, his senior debut.

At the time, the Hale-End product was used in various positions, including at left-back.
But not many would have predicted Bukayo Saka to hit the heights he has, including making 200 appearances for his boyhood club.

Ian Wright reacted to that achievement and he feels that the 22-year-old is now the ‘star guy’ for Arsenal, as he told Premier League Productions (05/12/23 at 7:20 pm).

What a way for Bukayo Saka to celebrate that landmark because it came in a dramatic 4-3 win at Luton Town on Tuesday night.
That keeps Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, but it hasn’t always been plain sailing.

Ian Wright highlighted that factor and how the England star has seemingly delivered on his previous promise.

Bukayo Saka – 200 appearances for Arsenal

“We are talking about somebody, who only a few years ago, he was literally holding Arsenal up with everything we were trying to do,” said Wright.

“We are seeing what Mikel is trying to do now and we are seeing the fruits of what he has started there.
But Saka was one of the main guys. He wanted to make sure he was delivering on what he said he was going to do. Look at 200 appearances now, it’s amazing. He is the guy. He is the star guy.”
Bukayo Saka – heading to legendary status

You can just feel that Saka is heading down that road and it’s a matter of time before he delivers the trophies.

That’s the missing piece, with Arsenal craving for that all-important Premier League title.

If Saka can help push his team past that line, then the £195k-a-week star (Spotrac) can call himself an Arsenal legend.

Last season, the England star scored 14 goals and assisted 11 in the Premier League and he is on course to matching/breaking that record this term because he has five goals and seven assists to his name.
