Matthew Upson has given his verdict on Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard.

The former Arsenal defender believes that Trossard is the best finisher at the club.

So, what has Matthew Upson said about Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard? Let’s take a look.

Matthew Upson praises Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard

Well, Matthew Upson has raved about Arsenal and Belgium international winger Leandro Trossard.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that the winger is the best finisher at Arsenal. The former Gunners central defender has noted how versatile Trossard is and has outlined what he brings to the team.

Upson said about Trossard on Sky Sports News (2:38 pm, December 2, 2023): “How versatile this guy has been since he has come to the club. He has been incredible.

“He played centre-forward, he played wide on the left, he played wide on the right, he is now playing in midfield. I think he has been a great addition.

He is technically very good which allows him to play in those variety of positions.”

The pundit added: “In terms of a creator, this guy is really clever, I actually think he is possibly the best finisher at the club as well in terms of technically he really knows where the back of the net is.”

Upson made the comments about Trossard in the build-up to the Premier League match between Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium this past Saturday. Arteta praised Trossard after the game.

Leandro Trossard is an important player for Arsenal

In my view, Leandro Trossard is an important player for Arsenal. While the winger is not guaranteed a place in manager Mikel Arteta’s starting lineup, he is someone who can come into the team at short notice and make an impact.

Trossard has been on the books of Arsenal since January 2023 when he joined from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion for £20 million (Sky Sports).

Arsenal signed the winger to give them the extra boost they need to win the Premier League title ahead of Manchester City. It did not pan out that way.

However, Trossard is 28 now and is at the top of his game at the moment. Arsenal are a better squad with him in it.

The Belgian scored one goal and gave 10 assists in 10 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal during the second half of last season.

Trossard has scored three goals and provided one assist in five starts and five substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season.
