It’s now a very real possibility that Arsenal sell Eddie Nketiah and promote 21-year-old to first-team

Arsenal selling Eddie Nketiah this summer to promote youngster Mika Biereth is now deemed a ‘very realistic possibility’.

Eddie Nketiah has struggled for regular starts this season, with Mikel Arteta mainly using the striker as an option from the bench.

Nketiah’s last start in the Premier League came on New Year’s Eve in the 2-1 defeat to Fulham at Craven Cottage and there have already been claims he’s likely to leave this summer.

Football Transfers has provided the latest on the 24-year-old’s future and claim it’s a real possibility that Mika Biereth could take his place in Arteta’s squad.

It’s noted that Arsenal have ‘high hope’ for youngster Biereth, who’s currently enjoying a loan spell at SK Stum Graz.

Indeed, it’s been deemed a ‘very realistic possibility’ that the Gunners offload Nketiah to promote the 21-year-old to the first-team

Biereth spent the first half of the campaign on loan at Aberdeen and impressed in Scotland.

The Danish striker netted six times in 14 Premiership appearances before joining Austrian side Sturm Graz last month

Since making the switch, he’s bagged four goals in his first six games for his new club.

It’s no secret that Arsenal will be in the market for a new striker this summer and you’d imagine they will be keen to bring in a world-class option in the position.

But Nketiah may head out the door as he seeks regular first-team football and promoting Biereth could make sense for Arteta.

The Spaniard will need another option in the position and Biereth has enjoyed a promising campaign while out on loan.
