Jamie Carragher makes demand of Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool draw with Arsenal

Jamie Carragher made his feelings clear on Darwin Nunez after the Liverpool forward was dropped by Jurgen Klopp for the game against Arsenal Jamie Carragher has demanded Jurgen Klopp pick Darwin Nunez – despite the forward’s struggles in front of goal.

The Uruguayan has scored seven goals for Liverpool in all competitions this season but hasn’t found the net since the 3-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the end of October. Nunez has been guilty of some horrifying misses, with some Liverpool fans fearing they could prove costly in the title race.
He was dropped to the bench for Saturday’s top-of-the-table duel against leaders Arsenal, which ended in a 1-1 draw. Nunez came off the bench midway through the second half.
Despite his shortage of goals, Anfield legend and Sky Sports pundit Carragher made his feelings clear on Nunez, declaring he deserves to be picked for the other traits he brings to the side.
Plenty of people agreed with the former defender, with one replying: “100% agreed. Drop off between Nunez and Gakpo/Diaz in terms of actual danger they create on the pitch, is massive. Gakpo just isn’t a Klopp style forward and Diaz has been affected by that double knee ligament injury.”
Another agreed: “I have said it!! This guy’s contribution to the team is more than goals!!!” A concurred: “Carra knows, 100% he’s so so dangerous. Should’ve either started or come on earlier today.
A fourth added: “100%!!! He misses some, but gets them. Same assists as Salah. The whole frontline are underperforming. It isn’t just him. But he’s the only one outside Mo who always looks a threat.”

Another Nunez fan commented: “We need his contribution more than his goals now. If Jota is not coming [back] soon we need Nunez in every games.
