Matteo Guendouzi shares whether he wants Arsenal to win the Premier League this season

Arsenal extended their superb winning run in the Premier League with an emphatic 6-0 thrashing of Sheffield United on Monday night.

The Gunners have now made it seven league wins in a row and also broke a record by scoring five or more in three consecutive away top-flight matches

Arsenal are now well and truly back into title contention, and their latest masterclass has led to many people commenting about their amazing form.

Indeed, Matteo Guendouzi has now also given his verdict on the Gunners. Speaking to The Athletic, he praised them for how they’re faring.

The former Arsenal midfielder also suggested he’d like the Gunners to win the title, saying he wished that they’d win a trophy this season and wished them all the best.

Arteta is doing a very good job at Arsenal,” he said. “They are fighting for the title, they are a very good team and he’s doing amazing things.

“I hope they will get a trophy because Arsenal is a big club. I wish the best for them.”

It’s nice to hear Guendouzi speaking highly of the Gunners and saying he’d like them to lift a trophy this season.

Although his time at the Emirates Stadium ended on a somewhat sour note, he’s still fond of his time at the club and has a high opinion of them.

Guendouzi also told The Athletic: “I didn’t work with Arteta a lot, I only had six months. I was 19, so I was learning every day. I wouldn’t make the same mistakes I did when I was 19.

“But in football, every day you learn and mistakes are part of football. Mistakes are part of life. You become a better man and a better footballer with mistakes.

“For me, it was a very good club because I played a lot.”

Guendouzi, now 24, is playing for Lazio, on loan from Marseille. He has made 35 appearances for the Rome outfit.
