Mikel Arteta delivers verdict on Liverpool vs Man City as Arsenal set to ‘suffer’ vs Brentford

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has issued a warning to his side ahead of their Premier League clash with Brentford on Saturday as the Gunners look to continue their title charge

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has named Brentford as the team that always gives his side a tough time. Ahead of their Premier League match on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium, Arteta warned that Arsenal “always suffer” when they play against Brentford.

The Gunners are in fantastic form, having scored 24 goals in their last five Premier League games, including a 6-0 victory over Sheffield United on Monday. Arsenal have won their last seven Premier League matches, bouncing back from a slump in December.

However, Arteta is wary of Thomas Frank’s Brentford, who recently held Chelsea to a 2-2 draw. The Bees have players like Ivan Toney and Neal Maupay, who can be a real handful. Toney, one of the Premier League’s top strikers, has been linked with a move to Arsenal. Meanwhile, Maupay is known for his ability to get under the skin of opposition teams

Last season, Brentford managed to take a point from their game against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. This was thanks to an impressive away performance – one of the results that led to Arsenal letting slip the lead in the table that they held for 248 days

Looking ahead to this weekend’s rematch, Arteta said: “Every point that we left [last season] hurts. It’s still there and that’s it. But we have a lot to play for. We know the difficulty of the match. We always suffer against Brentford.”

The Bees also beat Arsenal in the first game of the 2021/22 campaign after their promotion from the Championship the season before
