Phenomenal’…Martin Keown seriously impressed by ‘ruthless’ £20m Arsenal player

Arsenal’s push towards winning the title continued today as they saw off Bournemouth at The Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s side were in control for most of the game but did need a penalty from Bukayo Saka to get them off and running at the end of the opening 45.

From there, a second from Leandro Trossard and then another goal for Declan Rice ensured the score line looked routine.

Of course, there were nervy moments and on another day, Bournemouth get a goal back and Kai Havertz doesn’t get a penalty either

However, Arsenal did enough to warrant the win and speaking on the performance afterwards, former Gunner Martin Keown admitted to being so impressed by one of the goal scorers.

Martin Keown seriously impressed by Leandro Trossard as Arsenal beat Bournemouth
Speaking on TNT Sports after the game, Keown admitted to being blown away by how good Trossard has been since he signed.

“This fellow is ruthless. He has joined the party, and his stats are phenomenal since he has been at the club. He has now forced Martinelli out of the side, you have good competition. Every time he comes in, just when you need him, he tucks it away.”

Trossard has been a mega signing for Arsenal
When Arsenal paid an initial £20m to sign Trossard from Brighton, a few Gunners wondered what was going on.

Fast forward to now, and the Belgian is as important as any player in this current Arsenal team.

Trossard always seems to pop up when they need him and today again, he was right there when the second goal was required to finish Bournemouth off.

Arsenal have made some good signings in recent windows but in terms of value for money, none have been better than Trossard really.

The likes of Saka, Havertz and Declan Rice get plenty of praise. But Trossard deserves his flowers as well and it’s nice to see Keown giving him some praise.
