Rio Ferdinand makes bold claim involving Arsenal and Manchester City

Arsenal are firing on all cylinders at the moment, embarking on a thrilling and goal-laden winning run in the Premier League.

However, the Gunners‘ Champions League situation is currently in the balance, having lost 1-0 to Porto in their last-16 second leg.

That loss remains Arsenal’s only bad result since returning from Dubai during the winter break, a trip that proved game-changing for the Gunners.

Mikel Arteta‘s charges will host the Portuguese giants at the Emirates Stadium next Tuesday in a 8pm kick-off.

Considering the form they’re in and the fact they’re at home, the Gunners will certainly fancy their chances of turning the tie around

Rio Ferdinand believes Arsenal will do just that, and he also reckons no other club – including Manchester City – will want to face the Gunners in the next round.

“If they go through, which I think they will against Porto, I don’t think there is any team that really wants them. Even Man City, they won’t want them,” Ferdinand said on TNT Sports.

There are easier tests out there than Arsenal. Arsenal are a definite threat for any team in this tournament.”

Arsenal know what it takes to beat Manchester City
Arsenal have certainly found form at just the right time. Indeed, the Porto result was very much an exception for the Gunners. They’ve been pretty much flawless since.

Arsenal have already beaten Manchester City twice this season, in the Community Shield and in the Premier League fixture at the Emirates. So the Gunners know what they’ve got to do.

Obviously Arsenal need to get past Porto first, but considering how much is at stake and how dangerous the Primeira Liga side can be, the Gunners will not be complacent.
