Tim Sherwood says £60m Arsenal target is so dirty and has ‘disciplinary problems’

Tim Sherwood claims reported Arsenal target Palhinha has got ‘disciplinary issues’ but still believes the Fulham midfielder is ‘top drawer’.

Mikel Arteta is expected to bolster his midfield over the summer and Palhinha is a target for the Gunners.

Reports suggested Arteta’s men were planning a mid-season swoop for Palhinha. However, due to financial constraints, Arsenal didn’t strengthen their squad in January.

While the summer window remains a few months away, Palhinha could emerge as a target for the Gunners.

And Tim Sherwood has been speaking about the Fulham star’s habit of picking up too many yellow cards.

Sherwood says Palhinha has ‘disciplinary issues’
Speaking on talkSPORT, Sherwood delivered his verdict on the midfielder.

“I like him,” he said. “It’s what he does, this guy will kick his family members! He gets loads of cards, he’s got disciplinary problems.

“He’s got energy, he runs around. He’s like two bodies in the middle of the pitch there.

“He anticipates where the ball is going to go, he’s got a decent range of passing, pops up with a goal, heads balls out of the box. He does the scruffy stuff that you need team members to do.

“I think Palhinha is a top-drawer player, hence why Bayern Munich want to take him.”

Palhinha was close to a switch to Bayern over the summer but a move broke down on deadline day.

The £60 million-rated midfielder is expected to emerge as a target for a host of top clubs this summer.

Arsenal are in need of reinforcements in midfield and Palhinha could represent a decent option for Arteta.
