Unbelievable’… Brentford boss Thomas Frank makes claim about Arsenal after yesterday’s game

Thomas Frank labelled Arsenal the most in-form team in the Premier League after his side suffered a defeat at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.

The Bees put in an excellent shift against Mikel Arteta’s free-scoring side and limited Arsenal to very few opportunities in the game.

Declan Rice opened the scoring in the first half with a well-taken header but a mistake from Aaron Ramsdale led to the two sides heading into the break on level terms.

Arsenal would have to wait until the 86th minute to find a winner as Kai Havertz popped up with yet another headed goal for Arteta’s side

The fact that Havertz was still on the pitch to net the winner has been a big talking point. Indeed, Thomas Frank himself believes the German, who was already on a yellow card, should have been sent off for diving.

But the Bees boss was delighted with his side’s display in north London against what he has described as the best team in the Premier League on current form.

Frank makes claim about Arsenal after yesterday’s game
Speaking to BBC Sport, Frank claimed his side limited the ‘unbelievable’ Arsenal to very few chances during yesterday’s game.

Extremely proud of the players, I must say this,” he said. “We’re coming here to the in-form team in the Premier League, the unbelievable Arsenal, scored over 100 goals in the last seven games, something like that.

“We kept them on a minimum. That’s almost a defensive masterclass in so many ways. So I’m extremely pleased and proud of that.

“And you could actually argue, in terms of big chances, we probably had the bigger chance for Nathan Collins to go 2-1 up on the set-piece before they scored the winner. Top, top performance.”
