West Ham interested in completing €45M January signing that Liverpool and Arsenal want

West Ham are now ready to make a move for Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong but the German outfit is desperate to hold onto the 23-year-old fullback amid a title race with Bayern Munich.

Xabi Alonso has been linked with a move to Anfield when Jurgen Klopp eventually bids farewell to the club.

His coaching this season has propelled Leverkusen into the Bundesliga title race. With a game in hand, they trail the Bayern by four points and their thrilling football suggests they won’t drop off any time soon.
Florian Wirtz, another Liverpool target has been in wonderful, but so too has Jeremie Frimpong.

This season, he has seven goals and ten assists which is very reminiscent of Liverpool’s own Trent Alexander-Arnold, who could move into midfielder permanently if someone like Frimpong were signed.

However, Arsenal and West Ham are threatening to beat their Merseyside rivals to the punch.

What’s the transfer latest on Jeremie Frimpong?
A recent report from Football Insider claimed Liverpool have “set their sights” on signing Frimpong while Aston Villa, Arsenal and Manchester United were credited with interest of their own.
Now, however, another report from FI states that David Moyes wants to sign the fullback and is interested in signing him during the ongoing January transfer window.

His contract only expires in June 2028 so Leverkusen are well-placed to reject interest from the Premier League and amid their unexpected title race, the German club’s board will likely back Alonso by rejecting incoming offers.

Valued at around €45 million (£38.7M), it will likely take a massive offer to convince Bayer Leverkusen to sell this month. A transfer likely won’t be considered until the summer transfer window.
